In Kid’s Quest we believe that there are 2 powerful influences in
                                                    this world: Church and Family.

They exist because God created them to tell His Story; to tell the
world who He is and what He has done and will do.

Each of these 2 powerful influences has a distinct and essential
task that God has designed them to do.

The Church

God directs the Church to shine a light in the darkness, to
highlight who He is and reveal His son, Jesus Christ, so that
the world can know Him personally.  We represent the Church
by the color yellow because it’s distinct and essential task is
                                                    to illuminate.

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.  Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth.)”  Ephesians 5:8-9

“…for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.  Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life…”  Philippians 2:13-16a

The Family

http://www.mbctysons.org/uploads/Heart 2 Cropped.jpg
God directs the Family to display His heart by teaching and
modeling to each generation a love for Him and a love for
each other.  The heart of the family impacts the future of
every child and the future of the world.  We represent the
Family by the color red because it’s distinct and essential
task is to demonstrate God’s character and God’s love
                                                    through an unconditional relationship.

“These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life.  Hear, O Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, promised you.  Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.   Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.  Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”  Deuteronomy 6:1-9

“Jesus replied:  'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.”  Matthew 22:37-39

The Stakes

http://www.mbctysons.org/uploads/Yield Sign 2.jpg                                            There is too much is at stake for the Church and the Family to fail.

According to the Barna Group’s research, most spiritual development
takes places before we reach adulthood.  Did you know that…

          • A person’s moral foundations are generally in place before they are 9 years old.
          • A person’s spiritual beliefs are usually formed by the time they are 13 years old.
          • A person’s response to Jesus Christ is usually determined before they are 18 years old.
          • 1 out of 2 young adults will leave church between 18-24 years old

When the Church and the Family work together, they can have a greater impact on a child’s spiritual growth than if they work alone.

We believe the most strategic way to grow up a generation of children that know and love God and have a desire to grow into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, is to THINK ORANGE together.

ORANGE
happens when the light of the Church and the heart of the Family partner together to leverage their influence.  ORANGE is the vibrant outcome of red and yellow.

When you THINK ORANGE, Church and Family partner together to help every child experience 5 catalysts which we believe are critical to a child’s growing faith.
