  • REMINDER: Open Mic takes a break in August. Our next Open Mic is in September on Friday, September 18th. We are accepting submissions now, so feel free to submit your material by following the guidelines listed below.

WHAT IS OPEN MIC?

Established in 2005, the Creative Arts Ministry Open Mic is an artistic venue and coffeehouse that has grown to include a wide range of acts extending beyond the performing arts. It's held on the 3rd Friday of every month in Community Room A and is free and open to the public. Gourmet teas, coffees and light refreshments provided.
  • 5-minute and 10-minute slots available
  • Acts must have a positive message suitable for ears of all ages
  • All creative genres accepted
SEASON: January to November
SUMMER BREAK: August
WINTER BREAK: December

            

WHO'S IT FOR?

The CAM Open Mic is for actors, visual artists, songwriters, dancers, singers, comedians, and everyone else in between. Each act has the unique opportunity to share what they've prepared before a full house of very attentive listeners. Open Mic is the perfect venue for anyone wanting to try out new material, old material or even those works that are in progress.

WHAT CAN I SHARE?

You may submit anything you'd like as long as its text, content or concept are appropriate for ears of all ages. This is a family-fun event and children are always present. Your material does not have to be original. Cover tunes and *crossover material accepted.
    

HOW TO SUBMIT MATERIAL

If you're new to Open Mic, please complete these three steps:
  1. Download and complete the Submission Form.
  2. Download and complete the Text and Lyrics Form.
  3. Email both forms back to openmic@mcleanbible.org.

If you've participated in Open Mic before, please complete the Text and Lyrics Form and email to openmic@mcleanbible.org.

THE FINE PRINT 

Open Mic is a family-friendly event. Children are always present. All spoken, written and visual material music be suitable for ears of all ages. Acts are booked in advance. Submissions are processed on a first-come, first-served basis and are not complete without lyrics or text. Submitting does not guarantee booking. An Open Mic eVITE is sent out to our entire mailing list every month. Receiving the eVITE is not part of the submission process and cannot/does not confirm booking. Some acts may be moved to a future Open Mic. Time slots may not necessarily be consecutive. All acts must comply with submission, tech and performance guidelines.

*Crossover material: material that has a positive message.
