Awana Clubs
The 2011-2012 Awana Club runs September 25, 2011 to May 6, 2012 from 5:00 – 6:45 pm on Sunday evenings.
Awana is a program for youth 3 years old through 12th grade that focuses on learning God’s Word in a fun atmosphere. Each week, Awana provides consistent, positive teaching and training that stresses strong moral and spiritual values. Our clubbers learn about the reality of God and the truth of the Bible.
A typical night at Awana is broken down into 3 segments:
Game Time - Every Awana meeting kicks off in high gear with lots of team competition. Organized games get all of the children to participate, unleashing natural energy & enthusiasm.
Handbook Time - Using achievement-oriented learning segments, Awana training emphasizes the importance of God & His Word for sound living. Clubbers progress through handbooks at their own pace & leaders meet with them individually to go over what they have learned.
Council Time - Council time begins with group Bible study that is tailored to the ages of the clubbers.Additionally, fun events are scheduled throughout the year for clubbers to invite their friends to. Events usually include:

Age Requirements:
Cubbies must be 3 years old by September 30, 2011.
Sparks (Kindergarten) must be 5 years by September 30, 2011. If your child is not starting Kindergarten this fall, please enroll them in Cubbies.
1st Grade through 12th Grade. Child goes in same class they are in at school or with same age children if homeschooled.
Awana Enrollment & Dues Policy
There is a cost for dues each year. These dues help to cover the cost of books, awards, & activities throughout the year. Uniforms are a separate expense & can be paid when your child earns the uniform.
Children are considered enrolled when all dues are paid, all forms are submitted, and there are enough volunteers to staff the classrooms. Limited scholarships may be available; please contact us. Typically a scholarship is ½ the cost of annual dues. If classes are full, your child will be placed on a waiting list and we will notify you.
Enrollment priority is given in the following order:
1. Regular weekly Awana volunteers (guaranteed enrollment).
2. All those who have paid dues and submitted forms are taken on a first come, first serve basis, depending on space availability.
Please return Enrollment Forms with a check payable to MBC to one of the following places:
- Yellow Kids Quest Mailbox located near Volunteer Central across from the MBC Cafeteria.
- Mail to Kid’s Quest - Awana, P.O. Box 9300, McLean, VA 22102

Parent/Guardian Volunteer Policy
All Awana parents/guardians are requested to serve in some capacity. If no adult from your household wishes to be a regular Awana volunteer, then one adult must be on the nursery rotation list and serve in the Frontline/Awana nursery when called, which is typically 1-2 times during the Awana year. Volunteer position descriptions and preference choices are on the Enrollment Form.
